MPLS network design is a complex matter, especially when there are multiple MPLS providers that each can only serve a few of a customer’s network locations. One really has to know their way around at the various national carriers like AT&T;, CenturyLink, Level 3 etc. And it becomes even more complex when there are international offices around the globe involved.

At 10gea.org, we believe to fully understand the MPLS industry and the ever changing landscape of products, ordering procedures, billing issues, customer support, etc.

An MPLS network (Multi Protocol Label Switching) combines the benefits of Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing. It is a convergence of various IP switching implementations that use ATM and Frame Relay-like label swapping functionality to enable features such as VPNs, traffic engineering, and quality of service. When used with other enabling technologies, such as BGP multi-protocol extensions, independent VPN routing contexts in routers, and VPN-IPv4 addressing2, MPLS provides the capability of building an IP network infrastructure that delivers private network services over a shared infrastructure.
